The Shift
Have you felt the shift? Many have been discussing the move of Pluto from Capricorn to Aquarius. You may have noticed energetic shifts if you are sensitive or tuned-in to how you respond to the cosmos. If you did not, there isn’t a cause for concern. This transit is slow-decades in the making-and will take time to integrate. What you may begin to notice is that there is a building desire to withdraw from consensus thinking and embrace your own uniqueness. This return to authenticity and individuation is the evolutionary intent of Pluto through Aquarius and I will be mentioning it as the undercurrent in all of the upcoming lunation discussions. The way in which it will become apparent to you will depend on where Aquarius is in your own birth chart and how it makes aspects to, or converses with, your natal placements.
Soul and Will
You may have heard the saying, ‘you don’t have a Soul. You are a Soul. You have a body’. I would add, ‘you are a Soul and you have a will’.
Pluto’s continued opposition to a slowing Mars in Leo is giving us an added dimension. The desire of the will confronts the desire of the Soul. We, most decidedly, have free will and choice agency. I submit to you that the Soul will have a stronger influence over time. When we choose to align with Soul’s path, we may find that we evolve more steadily. When we choose to resist, we may find more repeated ‘lessons’.
There is an acceleration and recalibration occurring.
Who are you when you are alone to who you are in the presence of others?
Do you dare to show your ‘true colors’?
Where do you find yourself behaving, shapeshifting, or shrinking yourself to fit others’ expectations?
This comes from a deep need to be seen, validated, acknowledged. And it IS a need. We have learned to manipulate ourselves in order to have this need met. Pluto through Aquarius, and especially in this opposition to Mars, we are being asked to release the bondage of patterned behavior and begin to show up authentically. When you encounter rebuff from those who benefit from your shapeshifting, it will be imperative for you to encourage yourself to stay true to your course. Your authenticity will attract those who will see and appreciate you for your True self. Your need for acknowledgement will be met organically rather than manufactured through inaccuracy.
“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn't try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn't need others' approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” ~Lao Tzu
Pluto (Soul) in Aquarius (Mind) connecting with Mars (Will) in Leo (Heart) is asking us to recalibrate. With the upcoming Mars retrograde, we will have added time to make these new connections.
I gave a lecture a couple years ago around this topic that I will link for you here. I will preface that this was one of my first public lectures. While the style of presentation is not my best (as per my own judgement), the content is solid.

Logic, Intuition, and the Container of Truth
Sagittarius is associated with expansion, learning and knowledge, intuition, hope and faith, and connection to the natural world. In the human experience, this archetypal energy connects us to our inner explorer in search for Truth. Truth is as we perceive it to be.
“There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.” ~Aldous Huxley
The planet associated with Sagittarius is Jupiter. Jupiter is currently retrograde in the sign of Gemini (which naturally opposes Sagittarius).
The planet associated with Gemini is Mercury, which has recently stationed retrograde in Jupiter’s sign and is connected to this lunation.
New Moons are often called Dark Moons as there is no reflected light from the Sun. When moving in darkness, there is often a feeling of uncertainty because we cannot see clearly what is before us. This period of darkness coupled with the retrograde planets who rule our logic (Mercury) and intuition (Jupiter) is a powerful reminder to follow the Sagittarian arrow inward.
I wrote about the conversations between Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn in my Taurus Full Moon post. You can find it here on Substack. Drafting Your Future History
The opportunities being offered at this lunation are all about reflection and revision of the stories we tell ourselves. Saturn is the container for our consciousness. This archetype embodies change over time. This lunation and its connection to Saturn is asking you to create space for the integration of what is true for you now.
“... What happens is of little significance compared with the stories we tell ourselves about what happens. Events matter little, only stories of events affect us.” ~Rabih Alameddine

Surrender, the Void, and the ‘Void State’
Venus in Capricorn is in a closing conjunction to Pluto in Aquarius. There is a culmination and completion taking place. Venus through Capricorn is asking us to connect to, align with, and begin to move in the direction of the values that will sustain us. As already discussed, Pluto through Aquarius is offering us individuation. In between completion and initiation, there is a space which often holds nothingness, a void, and loss of meaning.
The concept of Nothingness is often used synonymously with a Void as both are considered to be an absence or an empty space. Greek philosopher Democritus contemplated the Void as a necessary empty space that allowed for the movement and interaction of atoms, making it essential for the existence of matter itself. This view framed the Void as a real and foundational component of the universe, contrasting with the notion of it being mere nothingness. In metaphysics, the void state is often described as a deep meditative state, where you allow thoughts to pass through your mind without judging them. Where insights and revelations come, this is where alchemy happens.
Whenever we have experiences that shake us, disturb our reality, and even break us, we have the exciting opportunity to reform and remake ourselves-even though it is often more frightening than exciting as we are moving within the experience. And we must reach the point of acceptance of what is, which is also a point of surrender. We can tend to think that surrender means giving up. It's more like giving over-the giving over your will. It's turning over your ideas, your needs, your timeline, your expectations, to a higher power of your own understanding, to an intuitive guidance system within.
Acceptance and surrender give over to the power of creation.
