I’m a little late to the Full Moon party, but don’t worry, these energies will be in effect at least the next couple weeks. We have officially entered Eclipse season as we move toward the Pisces New Moon. More on that as we get closer. For now, I’ll recap the recent Leo Full Moon and what we can expect to be processing.
TRUE COLORS
The phrase “show your true colors’ is said to be of nautical origin (apparently I’m working with seafaring idioms-see my last post). This phrase may refer to the color of the flag which every ship is required to fly at sea. Pirates used false flags to deceive other ships and not incite suspicion. The other ships, thinking that the pirates were friendly, sailed close to them and fell under their grasp. It was only during or after an attack that the pirates would show their 'true flag'.
Thus, the phrase ‘seeing someone’s true colors’ often meant that they behaved in ways contrary to who they purported themselves to be. I think it can also relate to the idea of wearing a mask and having some hidden truth underneath. In this instance, revealing the true colors of you might mean living more in alignment with your authenticity. And not being ashamed or afraid to show yourself as you are.
LEO
The archetype of Leo in its highest expression holds the idea that we have a sense of special destiny, a purpose for our passion, and radiance of brilliant colors. It is the understanding that our uniqueness is what makes us stand out in the best possible ways. In its lower expression, Leo can be a bit (or more than) narcissistic, dramatic, and self-serving. Just a reminder: we all have Leo somewhere in our charts. We also each have a Sun sign, which is ruled by Leo. There can be an insatiable need in Leo for acknowledgement and validation. Leo asks, “do you see me?”
As the nodes had previously been in the Aries/Libra axis for the past eighteen months, we had the opportunity for giving and receiving feedback, adjusting to our environments, and practicing showing up and advocating for ourselves. What we have been learning is now ready to be exercised. Embracing our Leo energy, to show up and show out, while also recognizing that feedback will come - in one form or another. If/when you have been consistently receiving negativity that seeks to shut you down or subdue your shine, it may be time to consider a new environment.
The evolutionary intent of Leo is to embrace confidence with self-validation. Protective behaviors that can come from ineffective evolution of our Leo energy include hiding due to fear of rejection or acting out of alignment with ourselves in order to receive needed validation. Where do you find yourself on this spectrum? And how can you strengthen your internal dialogue to promote self-validation over seeking it externally?
In the natural zodiac, Virgo follows Leo. If Leo is the proverbial top of the pyramid or pinnacle of life, Virgo comes along and flips it. It is the necessary humbling that allows us to continue our growth trajectory. Challenge and necessary adjustment happens in Virgo. I want to emphasize that there is a difference in humility and self-deprecation. In humility, we know who we are and what we are capable of, even when we don’t feel it. Evolved Leo recognizes its strength and evolved Virgo holds the discernment to know when to use it.
LUNATION TRANSITS
The South Node will be transiting Virgo until next summer and is bringing opportunities to grow in our understanding of discernment. I’ll talk more about the Virgo/Pisces axis in my upcoming Eclipse posts.
At the lunation, there was a YOD, or ‘Finger of God’ formation between the Moon, Pluto and Neptune. The Sun/Mercury conjunction is then what is called the boomerang point which holds the remedy or medicine. Release of the pressure to remain unseen due to shame, fear, isolation begins with liberating your mind from incessant negative mental chatter. At the time I am writing this, Mercury has entered Pisces and I posted a meme that reads “self-compassion begins with kind inner dialogue”.
This is particularly important as the North Node, Neptune, and Venus are having an intimate conversation in Pisces (opposing the South Node in Virgo) to bring us to this level of self-compassion and self-acceptance. Mars retrograde in Cancer is battling Chiron in Aries for emotional security. The tension between Uranus in Taurus and this lunation could be bringing up reminders and experiences of the times you have hidden yourself from life, or feelings of needing to do so now.
These combinations can feel like holding out for a hero. Holding out for a Hero
Leo evokes the hero(ine) in YOU! GOONIES never say die!
I’ll bring in a quote from my last post-”What moves you when you feel emotionally paralyzed? The strength of your Leonian heart.”
Until next time, take care of you.

Better late than never! LOL! It's definitely still working on me. And the connections back to what was unfolding throughout my Leo birth cycle/season 2024...wow. It's all spiraling up into very new territory for me, in both personal and collective spaces.
